Global Midwest Alliance invites you to a program in the Alliance's 2024 Innovation, Growth and Globalization Industry-Focused Series. Past food industry programs have focused on a variety of topics, including food safety, global food production and sustainability, food supply chain management, packaging innovations, the impact of food, nutrition and technology on our health and wellbeing, and the crucial role of IT in the food trade.

Firms and governments have started to recognize that food sustainability is vital for both our planet’s future and the bottom lines of companies. Indeed, progress on food sustainability goals can provide ways for firms to engage in rapidly evolving markets. Moreover, the future of the food sector must involve feeding the world, while overcoming numerous challenges including resource scarcity and climate change.

Moving forward, global supply chains and international regulatory policies will guide the priorities of food companies toward more sustainable footprints. Indeed, a sustainable worldwide food supply will benefit everyone as it’s a public good and can drive innovation. With the emergence and growth of ESG investing, sustainability has become more vital than ever before to succeed in the food industry of the future.

The food industry is an important part of the Midwest’s economy, especially as a generator of new markets and employment. Opportunities in world trade require nimble and informed responses to changing policies and consumer preferences regarding sustainability. In addition, not only do policy changes and R&D investments provide new opportunities to grow food sales, but also assist in meeting the sustainability goals for the sector.

Join Global Midwest Alliance and sponsor, Kerry, along with leaders from industry, government and other organizations at host, the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, as we explore some of the intersecting issues that will affect the future sustainability of the food industry, food producers and the world.

Seating is limited. Please register on or before May 28, 2024.
